About Mr. Cookie

Michael Cook, affectionately known as Mr. Cookie, hails from the sunny landscapes of Southern California, just a hop away from the vibrant streets of Los Angeles. His artistic journey began at the tender age of 8, where he dove headfirst into the world of playful artwork. After completing his BA in 2009, delving into painting, printmaking, and commercial illustration, Michael embarked on an apprenticeship under the wing of the legendary hip-hop and urban portrait maestro, Justin Bua. Immersed in Bua's studio in the heart of Downtown Los Angeles, Michael lent his talents as a production assistant, soaking up invaluable lessons in creativity and technique. Inspired and empowered, he began infusing his illustrations with flavors of pop art, urban culture, and street vibes, soon adopting the moniker "Cookie," an ode to his childhood nickname, which blossomed into the iconic "Mr. Cookie" brand. From 2013 to 2016, Michael pioneered the creative scene, curating art shows and orchestrating live art and music extravaganzas at "The Street Art Loft" in Agoura Hills, CA. Venturing into the realm of brand strategy, media production, and creative direction, he propelled his career into new heights, leading projects across retail, arts & entertainment, and the ever-evolving world of software and technology. In 2017, armed with a Masters Degree in Media Design, Michael co-founded Tempi.com, his inaugural technical venture, where he spearheads product design and brand strategy. Fuelled by boundless creativity, Michael continues to push the boundaries of the Mr. Cookie Universe, exploring new horizons and collaborating on projects that inspire and delight.
